Hong Kong, China’s squash team guaranteed themselves at least two more medals at the Asian Games in Japan on Wednesday. The men’s team defeated Qatar 2-0 in the quarter-finals to set up a semi-final clash with Pakistan. Henry Leung and Alex Lau both dispatched their opponents in straight sets. In the women’s team event, the SAR proved far too strong for the national team, securing a commanding 2-0 overall victory in just over half an hour. Lee Ka-yi and Simmi Chan dominated their respective matches in flawless fashion, both securing 3-0 wins. The women’s team will face India for a spot in the final. With no third-place play-offs in the team events, the squash squad is guaranteed at least two bronze medals regardless of their semi-final results. It also marks the fifth straight Games in which Hong Kong, China has won medals in both the men's and women's team events since the team competition was introduced at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. Korea's antitrust watchdog said Wednesday it has begun deliberations on allegations Korean Air Lines Co. failed to meet seat capacity requirements imposed as conditions for its takeover of Asiana Airlines Inc. The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) said its examiner's report recommended taking actions against Korean Air, its affiliate Jin Air and Asiana Airlines for providing fewer than 90 percent of the seats offered in 2019 on routes connecting the central city of Cheongju and the southern resort island of Jeju between December 2024 and December 2025. Under the merger conditions, the watchdog required the airlines to maintain seat capacity on designated routes at no less than 90 percent of corresponding 2019 levels.
