A leading creator of photography resources has released news of a brand new academic scholarship for 2020. Three scholarships are up for grabs, with the aim of helping budding photographers gain the skills and qualifications they need for this career.

Greater Than Gatsby has opened applications for the Greater Than Gatsby Annual Scholarship to support the futures of visual art and content creators. The winners of the three scholarships will receive $2,000 each to go towards tuition expenses at any accredited non-profit college/university or vocational/technical school in the United States.

This is seen as an excellent initiative that provides additional funding help to the most talented content creators and photographers around. It’s the second year that the Greater Than Gatsby scholarship has been running, with the previous iteration providing one lucky winner with $10,000 to pay for their continuing education. As the digital content world becomes more and more competitive, many photographers and visual art enthusiasts need extra training and qualifications to make an impact in their chosen careers. The problem is that tuition fees are extremely expensive, making it impossible for many talented individuals to get the education they need. With these three scholarships, Greater Than Gatsby aims to make further education more accessible for the most talented students around.

Scholarships Open To All Students
Anyone can apply for the Greater Than Gatsby Annual Scholarship, as long as they can prove that they’re either a student in high-school or at a college/university in the US. The only other eligibility requirement is that the individual is majoring in any type of art, communications, English, film, fine arts, journalism, multimedia, photography, and visual arts courses.

If all the requirements are met, then the individual needs to apply through the Greater Than Gatsby Website, submitting three photos to showcase their photography talents. Alongside this, a 500-word essay is also required as part of the entry. The deadline for submissions is May 1st, 2020, with the lucky winners being notified by email on June 1st, 2020.

Vietnamese professionals in Korea nearly double over 4 years

The number of Vietnamese nationals holding Korea's E-7-1 professional visa has nearly doubled over the past four years, data showed Sunday. As of August, 3,572 Vietnamese nationals held the visa, up 1.84 times from 1,938 in 2022, according to the data submitted to Rep. Kim Joon-hwan of the Democratic Party of Korea by the justice ministry. Parental leave benefits paid to foreign workers in Korea doubled over the past year, data showed Sunday. The data, submitted to Rep. Repeated shark sightings at a waterfront park in Busan’s North Port have drawn crowds of curious visitors, prompting city authorities to step up safety measures while monitoring the sea creature’s return to open waters.
