Permanent makeup artist Brow Daddy -- a.k.a. Ruben Kasper -- is bringing his revolutionary teaching style to San Francisco when he instructs a class in his signature Ombre Powdered Brow technique on August 3 at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton hotel using pig skin to show students the permanent makeup technique.
Brow Daddy will teach students how to map the perfect eyebrow using his signature brow mapping technique and then they’ll learn how to create the perfect set of brows using the Ombre Powdered Brow technique with the same machine that Brow Daddy uses on all his clients.
Participants of the class will have the opportunity to practice their new skill on pig skin, which is something Brow Daddy has introduced to permanent makeup training to take the place of the fake, latex skin that has been traditionally used. Unlike the fake skin -- which Brow Daddy likens to a mouse pad -- pig skin has similar stretch as human skin and it absorbs ink similar to human skin.
Brow Daddy says he is excited to be teaching in San Francisco and bringing his revolutionary instruction technique there.
“San Francisco is a wonderful city and teaching classes there is always fun,” Brow Daddy said. “Students are really going to love the pig skin concept because it’s the next best thing to practicing on a live model. Once they see how well it works, they’ll never want to go back to practicing on the fake latex skin.”
The class will take place in the Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco’s only AAA Five-Diamond hotel. Occupying a building built in 1909 in the scenic neighborhood of Nob Hill, the hotel offers 336 luxurious and sophisticated guest rooms and suites.
“Teaching at the Ritz-Carlton is also amazing,” Brow Daddy said. “It’s such a beautiful hotel and if someone is going to learn the Ombre Powdered Brow technique, this is definitely the place to do it.”
Unlike microblading, which many of Brow Daddy’s students are already familiar with, the pigment with the Ombre Powdered Brow technique does not expand over time. The individual hair strokes that are the calling card of microblading often get distorted over time, Brow Daddy says, as the pigment spreads in the skin. A brow done with the ombre powdered method stays the same shape for the entire time a person has it.
Depending on a person’s skin, an Ombre Powdered Brow can last for up to three years, giving the person a water- and smudge-proof eyebrow with a perfectly executed makeup effect.
